hello all and welcome to the wednesday weekly post

thursday

this week we are kicking off with clothes minded trivia outside in the courtyard, rescheduled from last week’s awful weather ~ come on down and participate in some very fashion-forward trivia, this months theme is sewing & crafting

we also have our thursday night ‘ramen night’ with a gorg japanese menu by chef , bar also open

friday

then we will have .n.shoot in for another community photoshoot, just bring your camera. punk-esque fight club vibes for this one: starting up in the studio then out in the courtyard from 8pm

ramen night also on! same menu again, always gf and vege options

upstairs in the loft is for a new release celebration ~ vincent is joined by and

then wrapping up in the basement we have a featuring some local faves with some immersive listening experiences, with mentat ( & ) and

starting off jazzy fresh with giving us live music in the cafe. a really lovely sat morning cafe experience. qr codes will be about to make a donation to the musicians to keep this collective alive!

1 the baked good lineups this week have been 👌😌

4 a flat white with clouds overhead ultimately making for a moody pic
5 iced latte and hojicha basque cheesecake (admin says: these cheesecake rocked so hard and it was my first time trying hojicha too)

wednesday weekly time lets get into itt

thursday

starting off with screening horror film ‘heretic’ in the basement (very apt setting here)

ramen night is on too for Thursday only ~ kitchen opens at 6pm for broths, non-broths, night time iced matchas and more with on the choons

we also have back for another sustainable fashion trivia: this month its about all things sewing and crafting! upstairs in the loft cos of the rain ~ this one is at capacity/sold out ‼️

no ramen this friday to make way for our big night of other stuff!

we have back supported by , , and bonn djs & ). visual projections by . a massive multi space night of music in the venue, we are stoked to welcome back rhythm section founder bradley :’)

as well, is back in the studio for their monthly guided boogie ~ inside also due to potential rain!! and no ramen night, instead bring a plate ticket holders can get discounts at the bar 👌

in the morning we start off with up in the loft with some art n craft, creating change thru art! this months focus is ‘soil punk and community gardens’

friday night is ramen night once again! with on dj duties

also friday night is the second night of the joy and whimsy bonanza: a gorg band lineup upstairs in the loft aka season three space. featuring (Naarm), and .c.r.a.p.s. meat/veg tray raffles happening too!

closing out friday is with .ng, & with a little bit of everything genre-wise

sat is the final day of joy and whimsy and we’ll be turning the courtyard into a creators market! creators involved are / / ._ / / / / studio / .fishoutofwater / .world / .alverson / .burke / / / . PLUS baked goods by .bne and DJing for us!

starting off on thurs evening ~ we have new art on our cafe walls! come down and have a little look alongside the bar and kitchen being open! a beautiful installation with ceramics, sculptings, paintings and more with art by .bloom, , , and uchenna uzochukwu

upstairs in the studio is .presence.pratise with ‘analog art club’, a casual and community minded collaging workshop ~ this session is another surrealist-inspired one

friday eve we welcome back for another salon in the loft, where local writers will read their work alongside a mini art installation in the studio next door

ramen night is back again for friday eve, kitchen opens at 6 as per usual! same deal as thursday with on the tunes

finally on friday night we descend into the basement for a night of min tech and fresh refuge faces: on the lineup we have & .au

saturday morning is , we will be out in the courtyard creating some fun little works to paste up on our courtyard wall. you can also drop off existing collages/drawings/paper-based works to the labelled cardboard box on the bar side of the venue. get involved, family friendly event!

sat evening up in is ’s first ever brissy show! carla del forno has just released her new album ‘confession’ and is celebrating with an all ages and mostly sold out tour. supported by

helloooo it’s weekly program time, some really important stuff happening this week here at e&b

firstly a reminder of no ramen this week: we are BACK next week!!!!

on friday night we have .dragnight happening up in the loft aka . get in your best fab gear and come partake in some karaoke and general gay times

then friday night in the basement is with a gorgeous lineup of , , and . expect everything from bouncy club sounds to broken beats to feel good soul and funk

sat morning is in the living room on the bar side ~ grab a coffee and listen to some improv jazz. donations to the band greatly appreciated, keep independent collectives alive!

sat night in is a special one: ‘may day’ is a fundraiser show by ._ for domestic violence connect (). with a four band bill featuring a heavy fem presence including , , , and .band. come and support a great cause

then in the basement for again: some more fem-led goodness happening tonight! with ._, , and .hara2

sunday morning is the usual sunday treats offering, with a sunday-only onigiri menu that everyone is talking about!! a casual and chill day in the cafe :-)

sunday evening we are welcoming to the courtyard for ‘decolonial feminism: sovereign yarns with the kanak delegation’. we will be gathering for a panel with sovereign kanak political and cultural leaders. ticket holders can also grab a feed from the kanak-blakfulla buffet style offerings from the pop up in our cafe.
this event has been organised by , .naarm and many other local volunteers

several weekends ago we had a very big Sunday here in the e&b courtyard! thanks to we were able to put together a massive afternoon of live art, DJs, in-house food, and a glorious outdoor margarita bar

the weather was excellent this day which was incredible news for our fab mural artist and his assistant , who were up on a scissor lift for a few hours completing this mural dreamt up by Murdoch himself. we sincerely hope you appreciate the onigiri juggling skeleton as much as we do

the day also featured some beautiful food by and crew, and the Espolon margarita bar was managed by - who came up with a very end-of-summer themed marg menu (admins personal fave was the Paloma)

of course the evening was also completed with a stellar dj line up featuring (Japan), an act we absolutely love having at e&b and who’s 90s influenced sound matched the setting sun in the courtyard very nicely. on supports were other echo faves .prayer, central station and

as the sun disappeared we were treated to live projection art from which closed out the evening beautifully!

good evening & welcome to the weekly program! some of our lovely team are away for the next few weeks, very much appreciate ur patience with enquiries and things moving a tiny bit slower here :-)

starting off on thurs evening we have the usual ramen night, kitchen open 6-9

also on thurs night is Singing Lessons Brisbane & Melbourne with their monthly open mic night, come listen & even share some tunes! 

we also have Brisbane LP Club in the basement ~ we will be exploring sweet trip’s ‘velocity; design; comfort.’ a free-to-enjoy listening and discussing sesh 

on fri we are back with ramen night. ramen kitchen this week will be lead by our wonderful Mana, and this is our last week with mana here at echo!!! come by and see mana before sunday, we will miss her so much as i’m sure you all will too!! this is also the last ramen night until may 7th when the rest of our kitchen team return from japan

we are back after the easter long weekend and hoping everyone is well rested! lots coming up this week:

on thurs evening SpeakEasy Poetry is back for an open mic sesh upstairs in the studio, come down and listen to some incredible prose and even share your own. featured poet this week is Bert Spinks and the theme of the week is three simple words: moth, elder, blue.

thurs night is of course the regular ramen night, with the kitchen opening at 6pm and the bar open for knockoffs from 5

thurs night is also a little collab with Breakbone and Big Break Records with our band show friends Season Three. all ages live music show starting in the basement then moving up to the loft: with PALINOLA, dublin rose, heavy_liquid_, ISMS BAND, Elle Payne, and F**ken Oath. doors at 6!

friday night is a big one with Gordi in the courtyard celebrating her ARIA nominated album ‘like plasticine’, our ramen kitchen will be running alongside this event for ticket holders only! doors at 7

hello all and welcome to another weekly! just a lil preface to let you all know we will be closed on good friday (3rd april) and easter monday (6th april) in all areas - so no friday ramen night this week gang!

starting off with an early thursday one: .of.emma is coming through with loads of very talented artists and makers for an evening market. check their ig for a full run through of all the vendors!

usual ramen night happening on thursday too with some lovely bowls from chef , music by the homies

closed friday!

back on saturday morning for another regular jazzy improv time in the living room. happening amongst the usual cafe offerings but do consider throwing these talented musos a donation through their QR codes on the day

then sat night in the basement we have presents xtc: a birthday/fundraising edition! expecting hard hitting tunes in the experimental department. with .faggit, , .0k, and

sunday morning we are very much back with the .of.emma markets day 2, with more vendors and fun times both in the courtyard and upstairs loft

friday cafe dump yayyy! managed to get snaps during some quiet after hours because boy this week has been busy

1 the current vegetarian fave: grilled halloumi and pumpkin croissants with sauerkraut, this one is toasted
2 our iced carrot cake with walnuts 😋
3 a serene bar side which we have set up a little better for cafe folks to sit in during cafe hours. this is of course where majority of our vinyl selections lie too!!
