Firstly, to our loyal and tireless staff - thank you so much for helping to create a welcoming, fun and most of all joyous space filled with the best Italian food in Brisbane (in our humble opinion). To the clients that have supported us, from the bottom of our heart we thank you! There is nothing more satisfying than receiving a compliment on our food and service. We understand that this news may come as a shock - especially after having sold out wine nights and great numbers through the door. The truth is, that, as owners, we found ourselves at a cross roads and had to make a decision that would allow us to follow our personal and familial goals into the future. We have a young family, and even with amazing staff, Lava was a behemoth that required a lot of attention. The opportunity arose for us to close the business in a relatively non disruptive manner so we decided to take it. It has been the most amazing adventure for us, and we look forward to tackling the next mountain!

We would have loved to give everyone more notice, and an opportunity to have one last meal together, but unfortunately, life sometimes has other plans. So, once again, we thank you!
