Well the end is here!! Come down and celebrate, leave a love note and grab the last of your favs. We’ve got fresh juice today and we’ve bottled up some cold brew. Last days for all the specialty drinks, Mont Blanc, Lavender Lemonade, Ceremonial Matcha and many more.

Well it’s always been my style to ignore regular conventions … so why not introduce a new drink the week before I say goodbye to you all!!
Yep new drink and goodbyes are on the menu for next week as we close out this chapter for Blume Specialty Coffee. 🥺
So come say bye next week as I bid farewell to this caffeinated madhouse I’ve called home for the last 3 and a half years and try my version of the Mont Blanc … house made orange and brown sugar syrup with our house cold brew, topped with cold foam and dusted with cinnamon and nutmeg. 🧡🍊☕️🍊🧡

Guys I’ve thought long & hard about this post but given how the world seems to be changing it’s time to start being more vocal.
This is the local Brighton Convenience Store run by Andy who I’ve only just recently met. I don’t often go here because I’m closer to another. But I went here recently because I know they usually do school books for Brighton State School and I needed a few things.
Andy is selling all his stock at 50% off. Why, because the roof of the building he rents was damaged in storms & he will now need to close completely so the owner of the property can have the insurance do repairs.
Did you know that we as tenants pay the owners building insurance? Did you know we pay for almost everything? The agents fees to manage the place, the repairs to anything that gets broken in the shop … in my case sometimes even repairs to the shop next door.
Why is Andy selling everything at half price? Because after we pay all the owners insurance & so forth we then have to find more money to pay our own insurances. Trying to be insured for this sort of occurrence is almost impossible.
Do you know what the building owners are responsible for? Maintaining the structural integrity of their property. That’s it & in some cases they even try to pass this on as well, we should know as our owners leave our own building with rusted gutters and rotted walls.
All we small business owners ever want is to run a community business that supports you. We want to get to know you, see your kids grow, celebrate with you at your latest achievement & cry with you with your losses. We try our hardest to help, giveback & ask nothing more than to earn a living the same as any other job. There are no great profits in this game of small business ownership, just a lot of risk we take for the small simple pleasures of getting to be your friend, your safe space or your respite.
I know it’s a tough time of year but if you need an extra school book, or even a pack of gum go see Andy & help him through these incredibly hard days so he can get back to being there for you.
The school supplies we will have for you to take free, are all things I’ve purchased from Andy.

Well you guys sure shot a lot of film over the holidays 👌🏼 … speaking of holidays that is where this Boss Lady has been, so your film has been having a little rest as well. But everyone is back to work tomorrow so we are dropping off this huge bundle first thing tomorrow 🎞️
Please remember we drop this in our own time on our way to and from the city to save you the trip, no kickbacks, no fees, no other incentives other than the love of film and photography so thank you for your patience while some long overdue and very much needed rest was had ✌🏼

Open Tomorrow!! … please remember …
We have stayed open every day but Xmas day.
We have kept our usually hours with many staff away on hols.
We are tired exhausted and running on nothing but caffeine and sugar.
We have staff away, staff taking a much needed day off, staff still learning … we have gone from a team of 1 to a team of 16 in 3 years, we have given over 10 young kids their first jobs, we are open 364 days a year, we are trying our best to do it all …
It’s just one very tired owner/mum and all her newest junior work kids for the next 3 days while our seniors take time off, please be gentle and patient with us all, we love you and will do our best.
Enjoy the party and we’ll be here from 6am tomorrow to caffeinate you all ✌🏼💫
