We have a secret to share… 👀

If you visited us over the weekend, this won’t be news to you…

But for those planning a visit soon…

We have a NEW menu! 🌽🤙

We dropped it recently and the feedback has been incredible. Dishes that’ll have you saying “YUMMMM” out loud and “absolutely not” to sharing.

So… what have you got heart eyes for? 😍

Our Apple Crumble Pancakes have officially entered the chat, and honestly, we’d be running here too.

Consider this your sign!

Warm cinnamon apples, buttery crumble, maple goodness, all sitting on top of the fluffiest pancakes ever. Like genuinely fluffy. Soft, airy, melt-in-your-mouth kind of fluffy, the perfect base for all the good stuff piled on top.

They’re comforting, indulgent, and very hard to stop thinking about once you’ve had them.

Behind every coffee poured, and every plate served is a whole lot of hard work, early mornings, and people who genuinely care about this little corner of Ashgrove.

Corn St has never just been about food and coffee; it’s about community, familiar faces, conversations across the counter, and creating a place people feel comfortable walking into day after day.

We’re pretty proud of what this place has become, and even more grateful for the people who make it feel alive every single day.

15 May 2021. Two people, one café, and zero idea what we were getting ourselves into.
Now somehow… a baby, a sausage dog, and five years later we’re still here. 💙

It has been a long journey filled with many highs and lows, a lot of uncertainty, a lot of “what ifs”, anxiety, sacrifices and very long days. But through all of it, we kept showing up every single day and kept believing in what Corn Street could become.

Looking back at where we started and everything this place has grown into feels pretty surreal.

Five years later — we wouldn’t change a thing.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way — our staff, customers, friends and family.

Thank you for every coffee, every breakfast, every familiar face. You’re the reason we show up every day. 💙

Imagine this: the kids are at school or daycare, you’ve got a hot coffee in hand, and our new Apple Crumble Pancakes sitting in front of you, stewed apples, cinnamon crumble topping, spiced maple syrup, mascarpone cream, and our dulce de leche, all to yourself. 🥞

No sharing. No “can I have a bite?”
Just peace, quiet, and pancake heaven.

Our new pancake flavour is hitting the menu soon!!

Smooth, creamy, and made with a bit more care than just shaking it up and hoping for the best.

We’re getting in early, because the mums in our world deserve to be celebrated for more than just one day.

This one feels a little extra special to us. Fatma is such a big part of what makes Corn Street what it is. Her care, her warmth, her work ethic (she’s constantly on and wears so many hats here!!). And when you think about it, that same energy shows up in so many of the mums who walk through our doors every day.

The ones catching up over coffee, the ones juggling a million things at once, the ones creating space for everyone else before themselves, the ones wearing their own 37 hats… and somehow still making it all look effortless.

Whether you’re a mum, have a mum, or know someone who’s been like one to you, take a moment this week. Sit a little longer, order the extra coffee, share something sweet, let someone else look after you for a change.

We’ll be here, as always, ready to make that moment feel a little bit special

Happy Mother’s Day 💛

When we said our meals aren’t like your average cafe… we meant it.

Yes, we’ve got the classics (with our own special twist), but we’re also a menu shaped by stories, cultures, and the people behind it. From Ecuador to Turkey, Corn Street is a beautiful blend of flavours and backgrounds.

Warning: our Chicken Shawarma is a dish that’s so drool-worthy, you can smell it through the phone! Juicy, spiced, and everything nice. Full of those bold Middle Eastern flavours that stop you mid-conversation after the first bite.

💛 Send this to someone who owes you brunch (and let them know this is what you’ll be ordering).

What’s Mother’s Day without all of her favourite things?

Her children are number one, of course… but Mum tells us brekky, brunch, or lunch at Corn Street is a very close second!

We’re open this Sunday from 6:30am–2pm, serving up all the good food, mouth-watering flavours, beautiful company, and from 10am, wines, bubbles, and spritzes (because coffee can only do so much 😉). Let us take care of the cooking and cleaning, that’s exactly what a stress-free Mother’s Day should look like!

Mum, if you’re reading this, send this to someone who needs to book the table.

Juan is the true definition of an artist.

It’s in the way he moves. He’s intentional with every plate, every pour, every mix, every swirl, every slice. Every small detail of a dish carries a piece of him. Being an artist isn’t just about creating something beautiful, it’s about creating something that makes people feel something.

We’re a cafe built on all the little things done with care, done with passion, and done with heart. Our goal every day remains the same: to make your day just that little bit better. And if you’ve ever felt that here… now you know why 💛

You’ve got 10 seconds to name something better than this:

Alarm off.
A slow start to your morning.
Group chat: “Brunch?”
You order your usual coffee without even looking.
That first sip of barista-made goodness hits just right.
That “what are you getting?” conversation you already know the answer to.

Poached eggs, perfectly runny.
Corn fritters, perfectly cooked.
Tasty jamón.
Smoky, creamy, a little indulgent.
Fresh greens to make you feel balanced.

“Wait, don’t touch it yet.”
Camera eats first.
First bite = everyone goes “mmmm”
Laughing over anything and everything.
Somehow staying longer than you meant to.

Couldn’t think of anything better? Exactly.

The heart of a home is always in the kitchen… welcome to ours. Welcome to Juan’s 💛

If you’ve ever had a dish here that made you pause, one of those “that’s really yummy” kind of bites, it’s likely come from Juan’s hands (a little bit of magic in each one). His attention to detail is second to none. Every plate that leaves the kitchen carries a bit of his care, his pride, and the passion he brings in every single day.

Juan’s smile lights up the kitchen on the busiest mornings, he moves through the kitchen so calmly, and he makes this space feel like more than just a cafe.

Next time you’re in, give him a wave! He’s a big part of what makes Corn Street feel like home.

We hope you’re ready to get addicted to this one…

Handmade polenta, crispy, zingy, layered with mushrooms and sauce that’s full of depth with just the right hit of acidity to balance it all out. It’s one of those dishes that feels like comfort food… but a little elevated. EVERY bite (not just the first one) will make you say “yummmmm!”

You bring the company, we’ll handle the rest 💛

Just us doing a mid-school-holidays check-in, how are we all feeling?

Tapped out? Need coffee? Need MORE coffee? Hearing “I’m bored” every minute?? Hearing “I’m hungry” every other minute??? We hear YOU!

Consider this your gentle reminder that you don’t have to survive the holidays on empty. We’ve got the coffee (strong), the food (delicious), and a space where you can actually sit down for a minute (or ten).

The last slide should come as no surprise 😉

Jaime’s from Ecuador, Fatma’s from Turkey, and Corn Street is beautifully shaped by both. The way we cook, the flavours, the feeling of the place… it all comes from them. And now, there’s Saffron! Our youngest (and absolutely cutest) team member, already part of the everyday here.

She loves smiling at our community… and we love serving it!

We need to sit down and finally talk about the difference between a quick coffee and a Corn Street visit.

One is in and out.

The other starts with coffee, and then turns into something to eat, something shared across the table, something sweet you didn’t plan on, and maybe even something a little cheeky from . Somewhere along the way, time slows down. And suddenly, you’re not in a rush anymore.

You can probably guess which one we prefer… and you will too.

You can tell when someone cares about what they do.

And Juan really cares.

For us, service starts long before anyone walks through our door. It’s the quiet before the rush. It’s keeping calm during mid-lunch chaos. It’s hands, muscle memory, and a mind already thinking three steps ahead. It’s the early starts, the focus, the same motions repeated over and over until they feel second nature.

It’s the kind of care you don’t always notice straight away. But in every dish we serve, it’s always there 💛
