About two years ago, we opened our second doors on Edward Street, and it’s been a beautiful whirlwind ever since. 🌀✨
Swipe left for a little throwback! From its bare, empty beginnings to the bustling, cozy space it is today, full of life and abundance. We honestly didn’t expect this little store to become everyone’s go-to spot on both busy weekdays and lazy weekends. ☕️🩵
Seeing so many new faces become part of our coffee community has been the greatest joy.
To our wonderful customers who bring this place to life, and to our incredible team who pour their hearts into every cup, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
As we look back on these memories, we’re also getting ready for the next chapter. Store No. 3 is coming soon! We can’t wait to make more memories with you all.

The Hideout Fortitude Valley is officially opening, Wednesday 27 May.
Our espresso bar will be serving our 3 signature blends: Fortress, Sanctuary, and Arena - designed exclusively for The Hideout in collaboration with Axil coffee roasters.
Plus, 2025 World Barista Champion Jack Simpson and 2026 Australian National Cup Tasters Champion Karl Lee will be brewing special coffees on the day.

If we had to pick one person who embodies pure joy for coffee, it would easily be Momo. ✨
She fell in love with The Hideout during her working holiday last year. Her journey to becoming a barista wasn’t always easy, but her passion never wavered.
Watching her visit us after her own shifts just to learn and grow has been a true inspiration.
Now’ she’s off to New Zealand for her next big adventure. Momo, it’s been a pleasure watching you grown into a true coffee professional.
We’ll miss our daily brews and stories, but we can’t wait to see you shine in NZ. Best of luck!☕️🩵

A little throwback after a big week ⏳
Looking at these photos of our Adelaide St store mid-reno, it’s hard to believe it’s been six years since we opened our door.
Thousands of coffees, countless chats, and a lot of laughs later - here we are.
To everyone who’s pulled up a chair, ordered the same coffee on repeat, or just popped in to say hi, thank you. None of this happens without you.
And to our team, past and present, who’ve poured every up with care - we couldn’t have done it without you either.

Just a heads-up for our Adelaide St community!
Our Adelaide St store will be closed this Saturday, 9 May, due to scheduled power testing throughout the entire building.
Our Edward St store will be open as usual, so you can enjoy your favourite brew on Saturday!
We will be back to our regular hours on Sunday to celebrate Mother’s day with you all.

Unmastered is a new roaster based in Melbourne, focusing microlots and exotic coffees.
Don’t let the name fool you, every cup we’ve tried so far has been incredibly clean and balanced.
They’ve already won our baristas over, so you might even see them on our new menu soon 👀🤫

Blackboard is roasted by Danny, Australia’s 2026 Roasting Champion, who travels the world finding unique, high-quality lots from farmers he actually knows. Every cup is balanced, complex, and honest - nothing more, nothing less.
We’re rotating some of these through batch brew, one at a time. Come in for a cup, and if you love it, grab a bag to take home.
