Lumen Cafe Arkie Cafe, located on High Street, offers the best of both worlds with its daytime cafe and late-night bar on Fridays. Although temporarily closed for evening hours, customers can still enjoy breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday from 7am-2.30pm. Enjoy unique cocktail offerings during happy hour or try their popular Green Smoothie made with avocado, broccoli, spinach, mango & coconut. Come to Arkie for your morning coffee fix and stay for a relaxing atmosphere.

I grew up in a small country town near Tartu, surrounded by forests, quiet roads and nature.

Tartu showed me that even a small city can have a vibrant café culture, beautiful old streets, and places where people simply slow down and connect.

One thing Tartu and Brisbane have in common is the river that runs through the heart of the city. Every time I walk along the Brisbane River, it reminds me a little of home.

Maybe that’s why Lumen became what it is—a little piece of Estonia, shared over good coffee. đŸ€

Some of my favourite memories aren’t tied to cities or landmarks.

They’re quiet walks by the Baltic Sea, endless pine forests and wooden boardwalks disappearing into nature.

Growing up in Estonia, these places taught me that slowing down isn’t wasting time—it’s how you notice the things that matter.

That feeling became part of Lumen.

Before Lumen Café Lounge found its home in Brisbane, it began with countless mornings spent in cafés across Estonia.

Every place had its own personality, but they all shared something in common: great coffee, thoughtful food and a space that invited you to slow down.

Those moments shaped the vision behind Lumen more than I ever realised.
