It is with immense sadness that we say goodbye to Chef Alejandro Garcia, who passed away during his visit back to Mexico. He was one of the pioneers of the Mexican food scene in Brisbane, creating a place that people from all over Brisbane travelled to when he opened Border Grill in Jindalee, and reopened in West End. Like many entrepreneurs, he reinvented himself to start up the viral Chokie Bakehouse.
He leaves a hole in the Mexican Brisbane community and will truly be missed. We hope his family and friends find comfort in the fact that he was very well liked and regarded. Descansa en paz, Chef.

We have made the decision to open our doors this evening to do takeaway or dining in for those who have cabin fever from the last few days. For our Teneriffe neighbours, come for a quick bite only if it’s safe to do so. ☔️ 🌧️ We’re thankful that el Señor Alfredo 🌀 weakened before his arrival to Brisbane, we are saddened and wish our neighbours down in the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales who have been impacted terribly by this weather event strength for the coming weeks .
