✨ The American Diner Co. Signing Off – With Gratitude, Burgers & A Side of Real Talk ✨
Well, folks, after 12 incredible years of flipping burgers, shaking shakes, and making enough wings to put a dent in the poultry population, we have decided not to renew our lease at our Enoggera location.
No, we weren’t shut down by a mob of angry vegans, and no, our milkshake machine isn’t permanently broken (this isn’t Maccas). It’s just time for a new chapter—preferably one that doesn’t involve rubbing ribs at 2 AM or dreaming about burger patties.
But before we go, we want to take a moment to thank every single one of you.
---
First, The Thank Yous
To our incredible customers – whether you came in for a quick feed, a family celebration, or just to try arguably some of the best ribs, wings and burgers in Brisbane, thank you.
You made this journey worthwhile. Every empty plate, happy smile, and return visit meant the world to us.
To those who left positive reviews and gave constructive feedback – we see you, we appreciate you, and we’d share our last loaded fries with you.
To our amazing suppliers, especially Teri (meat queen) and Michael (general rep legend) – you guys never let us down. Unlike some, we didn’t treat you like a Tinder match, shopping around for a “better deal” every five minutes. You backed us, we backed you, and that’s how business should be done.
To our staff, past and present – hospitality is not for the faint of heart. It’s chaotic, exhausting, and takes a special kind of person to survive. You gave it your all, and we truly appreciate every effort.

Now, Let’s Get Real – A Word About Small Businesses
Running a small business is not for the weak. Over the years, we faced some serious challenges, and every small business owner will tell you the same:
🥊 Google Reviews & The 1-Star Heartbreakers
We always tried to do our best. If something wasn’t right, we wanted to fix it on the spot.
But when people walked out silently and then dropped a soul-crushing 1-star Google review later… yeah, that hurt.
To all future diners out there—if you ever eat somewhere and something isn’t right, give them a chance to fix it first. Small businesses care.
🥊 Third-Party Delivery Apps (UberEats, Menulog, etc.)
They take 33% of the total order, charge customers extra, batch deliveries together, and then fine us when their driver arrives late.
And to those who called us to complain about their UberEats order instead of UberEats… mate, take a good, long look at yourself.
🥊 Rent Hikes & Cost of Living
Our rent increased 4% each year every year
Over 12 years you do the math lol
Did we raise prices 48%? Nope. Did we absorb it? Yep. Did it hurt? You bet.
We kept prices fair as long as we could, but passion alone doesn’t pay the bills.
COVID
We where all there....
'in it together' (apparently)
But enough of all that y'all get the general idea of what it was like 👍 👌 🙄 🤔

One Final Plea – Support the Little Guys
If you take one thing away from this, support small, independent food businesses
Otherwise, all you’ll have left are the soulless chain places with mass-produced, average food, slick advertising, and fake “Love ya” slogans.
Brisbane has lost some amazing local burger and wing spots—Getta Burger, Ze Pickle, Wing Fix, Miss Kay’s, and now us. We don’t want to see any more go.
So next time you’re deciding where to eat, choose a small, family-run place. They need your support more than ever.

Signing Off – With Love & BBQ Sauce
Thank you for 12 unforgettable years. Thank you for your support, your laughs, and your love for damn good comfort food.
We’re taking a well-earned break (and maybe enjoying food we didn’t have to cook for once).
From our family to yours – over and out. 👏🙌🍔
