Biscuit Factory and Soundslike reunite to welcome true bass music royalty Mala to Brisbane.
A founding force of dubstep and one half of Digital Mystikz, Mala has anchored the movement for over 20 years — from the early days of DMZ to the globally respected DEEP MEDi Musik, which he has run alongside Steph MEDi since 2006. Much like Blue Beat to Trojan or Upsetter to Black Ark, DMZ laid foundations that continue to define sound system culture, while DEEP MEDi expanded that vision with an unwavering commitment to weight, space, and authenticity.
In recent years, Mala’s influence has extended far beyond the heads. His seismic basslines and unmistakable sonic signature have been among the most talked-about moments at festivals and clubs worldwide — whether delivered directly from the booth or echoed through sets by others, where Digital Mystikz anthems remain unavoidable highlights.
More than just power and pressure, Mala’s music carries depth, meditation, and intention — shaped by travels to Cuba and Peru and a lifelong philosophy of peace, contemplation, and sound as a shared experience.
Now, he brings that energy to The Prince Consort Garden Bar for a rare Brisbane appearance. Expect deep, physical bass weight, timeless DMZ classics, fresh dubplates, and the kind of session that reminds you why this music still matters.

SKREAM & BENGA – BRISBANE
Before dubstep even had a name, Skream & Benga were shaping its future. From Croydon’s Big Apple Records and pirate radio to global stages, the duo helped define a genre with deep sub-bass, syncopated rhythms, and an energy that shook UK club culture forever.
After more than a decade apart, the pioneers have reunited — both in the studio and behind the decks — with their first new music in over ten years, Good Things Come to Those Who Wait. Now, they bring the reunion to Brisbane for a huge open-air day party at The Prince Consort Gardens, Sunday 26th October. Expect heavyweight bass, garage and jungle influences, and a journey through the sounds that inspired generations.
With support from Hydraulix + more TBA.
