Behind every great local business are great relationships, and this photo says it all.
Michael, Owner & Operator of New Farm Seafood, and Vince, Owner & Operator of Brisbane’s iconic New Farm Deli, have built more than businesses in this community. They’ve built a friendship that is, quite frankly, becoming a little too inseparable. 😂
They support each other, bounce ideas off each other, share a laugh and, most importantly, genuinely care about the local community and the people in it.
And yes… I’m the Marketing Manager, and I have tried to break them up. 🤣
It hasn’t worked. So I’ve given up. They’re clearly a package deal. 😂

Proudly Supporting Our Veterans’ Families 🦘🦐
We had some very special guests drop into the restaurant today! Meet Daniel and Alex, two Australian Defence Force Army Soldiers who are out in our local community fundraising for Legacy Week.
They popped into New Farm Seafood for a quick lunch break and absolutely loved their meal. We love serving our community, and it is an absolute honour to give back to those who serve our country. 🇦🇺
What is Legacy Week?
Legacy Week (Sunday 30 August – Saturday 5 September) is an annual national campaign supporting roughly 40,000 partners and children of veterans across Australia.

This week, meet Hon Chuen Lee, better known as Hans! 👋
“I’m originally from Hong Kong 🇭🇰…
One of my favourite things about working at New Farm Seafood is getting the chance to handle so many different kinds of fish and seafood. 🐟
If I had to choose my favourite dish on the menu, it would definitely be the Kingfish Usuzukuri. It’s made with fresh kingfish, our own ponzu and pickles, and the layers of flavour are just great! 😋
If you’re visiting us for the first time, I’d recommend trying some of our salmon sushi. You really can’t go wrong with the salmon, try the Salmon Nigiri or Salmon Sashimi. 🍣
Something customers might not know about my role is that I actually studied at a sushi school in Japan, where I learned the skills and techniques needed to become a sushi chef. 🇯🇵🔪
My hidden talent? I can use chopsticks with my left hand as well! 🥢😏
And my walk-on music would have to be Tokyo Drift by Teriyaki Boyz. 🎶🔥
One of my favourite customer memories is simply seeing customers come back again and again and tell me that we’re selling the best sushi. That really means a lot.” ❤️
