What people say

The Norman Hotel Brisbane is a historic gem that has been serving up delicious steaks and cold beers since 1889. With six unique spaces, each with its own personality, this venue offers something for everyone. The beer garden is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cold drink on a sunny day, while the pub is cozy and inviting. The steakhouse serves up mouth-watering cuts of meat cooked to perfection, and the abundance of parking makes it easy to get to from anywhere in Brisbane.

The hotel's history is fascinating, with Mr Robert Heaslop's vision coming to life in the late 1880s when Queensland was developing its own distinctive architecture. John B Nicolson's design of the Norman Hotel reflects this unique style, and construction was completed in 1889 - the same year Central Station opened.

Named after Sir Henry Norman, the newly appointed Governor of Queensland at the time, this hotel has a rich history that is still celebrated today. From 1896, Heaslop leased the hotel before selling it to brewing company Perkins & Co in 1900. Perkins & Co produced some of Brisbane's most iconic beers, including ###X Bitter Ale.

Today, the Norman Hotel Brisbane continues to be a beloved institution in Brisbane's dining scene. Whether you're looking for a casual drink with friends or a special night out with your loved ones, this venue has everything you need for an unforgettable experience.
