I have loved Star Wars since I was in primary school and went to see it as a family outing to the drive in.
I enjoy the drama, the comedy (intentional or not), and the overall message of hope and a wish for a better future.
Spare a thought for the storm troopers who don’t have a trade union and a Labour Day holiday while we enjoy ours.

120 years ago, a co-operative group was formed to create the Southern Dairy Co-operative.
The site has seen many changes and we are so pleased to be able to continue the story in the last remaining onsite cottage.
On this day in 1906:
Establishment of the Kingston Butter Factory.
Part 1.
April 2026 marks 120 years since the instigation of the Kingston Butter factory.
Insight: The Logan Farming and Industrial Association was instrumental in lobbying for a local factory at Beenleigh with a view to selling butter on the London market, given the large amounts of Logan district cream leaving the area for processing elsewhere. The rich fertile pastures of the Albert and Logan region produced milk and cream of the highest quality.
With ongoing friction between dairymen and directors of proprietary companies over the prices paid at the creameries and at prices not acceptable to the farmers, it was thought a local co-operative butter factory would keep the profits with local farmers and a co-operative was preferable to taking out a government loan.
Secretary of the Association, W.G. Winnett instigated the formation of a co-operative in April 1905. He tabled a report indicating that the amount of cream obtainable in the Beenleigh district warranted a butter factory capable of turning out two tons of butter per day.
He suggested that it was an opportune time for a co-operative factory to be built. The chairman, of the Logan Farming and Industrial Association, Mr. A. Kleinschmidt, convened a heartily approved meeting at the Beenleigh Shire Hall on April 12, 1906, of some 60 dairymen to deal with the subject of a co-operative factory.

This week, it was our pleasure to host a book launch for ‘Country Boys to Country Heroes’ by Coralyn Cowin, supported by the Logan City Historical Museum. The guests enjoyed everyone’s favourite scones and Anzac biscuits with their tea and coffee.
The book is available at the Logan City Historical Museum priced at $80.
The 800 page book details the records of those from the Logan Area who fought in WWI. It highlights the close knit families of the area at the time of WWI.
This unique book is the culmination of over 12 years research by Coralyn.
Thank you to for the edible print as the cake topper.

Our gardens are looking gorgeous at the moment, thank you to the council parks team & the rain for greening up the grass.
The covered verandah is an enjoyable space to sit with your coffee / tea and light meals or scones. Autumn is a great time of year for Queensland weather (usually) 🤞.
