We’d recently been talking about a distinct lack of breweries doing properly stupid and utterly financially unviable s**t these days. Capture some space yeast! Air lift an iceberg! Taxidermy some road kill for packaging…
It made us smile when we learned about Reckless living up to their name with their IPA Day release, Same Day IPA. Doesn’t sound that stupid out of the box, but these loveable larrikins are kegging this b**r moments after midnight on August 6 and then sending their reps and mates on the road to deliver them all up and down the East Coast to be tapped at 6pm - on the same flippin’ day!
Whilst you are waiting for this keg of stupidly fresh IPA to arrive, we’ll have four other IPAs to keep you entertained. Our IPA Day collab with Banks, Everyday Day is IPA Day (a hazy DIPA), new Banks Cake Eater, Banks Stay in Your Lane Hazy IPA and Garage Project, Fresno Night Crawler, WCIPA. Plus another 80 or so IPAs in the fridge.
But we’ll all be thinking about that keg and its 1013km journey from the Reckless HQ in Bathurst to our front door in the Valley! Windy roads, roos, fuel stops, pie stops, p*e stops, 1 keg drop in Toowoomba, 7 in Brisbane. Bring it on! And bring on IPA Day (But Every Day is IPA Day)!

Thanks to these beautiful people for going Up the Kriek with us last Saturday. We savoured six of the world’s best Kriek’s from the world’s best lambic producer - 3 Fonteinen. What a treat!
Keep Ekka Wednesday free for when we tap six kegs from 3 Fonteinen. It’s the first time they’ve delivered kegs to Australia - and we’re lucky to be one of only six venues in the country to be pouring them.

Up the Kriek by 3 Fonteinen is happening tomorrow at 1 pm. Six epic Kriek’s from the planets best lambic producer including one of our favourite b**rs ever, Hommage. It’s a delightful blend of frambozenlambik (Raspberry Lambic - 74%) and kriekenlambik (Cherry Lambic - 26%). Get ready for jammy forest fruits, tart raspberries, ripe cherries, rounded out by layers of classic 3F funk and clean acidity. There are a handful of tickets left. Betting grab one!

There’s still a few tickets to this Saturday’s epic bottle share - Up the Kriek by 3 Fonteinen. Six epic Kriek’s from the planets best lambic producer including this Druif Dornfelder Kriek. A Druif is a Lambic b**r that is macerated with whole grapes or grape juice. 3F are masters of it. In this case it is with Dornfelder, a German red w**e varietal with sour cherry and blackberry notes - perfect for blending with a Kriek. It has a beautiful balance of tart, earthy cherry richness, rich grape tannins and bright, funky acidity. Grab a ticket whilst you still can!
