She’s looking pretty swish. And that’s underneath. Got to flip her over, test her on the frame to make sure it’s not going to explode and then get cracking on the good side 😂👍 I’ve already put my back out once with this slab, it’s getting flipped the absolute minimum of times now.

Well, that was quite the glue-up. Woodworkers will feel my pain here. But, we got there in the end while all the glue was still wet. 😂 This camphor laurel frame is going to be beautiful.

Sometimes you just have to break out the Japanese saws for a bit of hand cut joinery. Which I love, I must do more of it. The frame for this enormous dining table is coming together nicely. It’s quite the process though, I hope I’ve got my engineering right to take the 150kg or so that the top weighs. I guess we will see if it explodes when I put it on!

Well, this desktop for some clients that I made a dining table for ages ago has come out beautifully. Camphor laurel with green resin. Now to get it packaged up to send.

I’ve been looking for an antique safe for ages. Finally found one but it was in pretty bad condition. So, I learned how to use metal bog, bondo and 2k spray paint to get it back to what it should look like. Then it got a modern twist with a gold resin back on the inside and a camphor laurel timber insert and drawers. Now I’ve just got to fill it with gold bullion. 😂 If anyone has any gold bullion they’d like to donate, DM me.

Number two in the rose gum commission series. This sewing table has an integrated rail and is custom designed to sit inside an existing cabinet that the client already has. Legs inspired by (I couldn’t talk the client out of them so we did them entirely out of timber) and a matching drawer for bits and bobs.

My last projects of the year were all for the same client. I won’t post them all at once though. This coffee table has Nordic rune inspired legs and transparent turquoise resin. It’s rose gum which has such a lovely colour when it’s sanded and finished.

Finally managed to gently remind the client to come and pick up this random timber lazy Susan and matching coasters. This piece truly has a bit of everything in it.

The QA inspector approves of these rose gum tabletops. At least I think that’s what she’s saying. 😂 Just final micro hole filling before cutting to the exact size, sanding and finishing.

Sometimes you just have to drop an f-bomb. But if you’re going to, make it a classy one. 😂 Blue gum and red gum burl for the base, with a polished brass rod between.

While I’m waiting for clients to make decisions on various things, I whipped up these oversized blue gum dice (90mm on a side) with brass inlays for the dots as presents for my nephews before they go back to the UK after their holiday here. And one for me to keep too 😊

Well that came out pretty nicely if I do say so myself. If we had slightly less wide chairs, it would be a tight 12 seater but a luxurious 8 is easily good enough. We can reconfigure to seat 24 people if we absolutely have to. I dunno, if we decide to open a small restaurant or something. 😂🤷 Blue gum and ironbark for the frames, Bunnings pool panels for very cost effective tops. The lazy Susan is a mixture of all sorts of different wood, all offcuts

These are the simplest but most versatile outdoor tables I’ve ever made. They’ll have glass pool panels as tops and at 1200x800 each, they make a 12 seater 2m square table with a gap in the middle that is perfect for an umbrella and will be covered with a lazy Susan when they’re in the square configuration. They’ll have glass can also be put together in various ways to make all the way up to shapes that’ll seat 20 people. Perfect for entertaining.

Finally delivered the gaming table I’ve been working on for ages. It looks amazing. Dice set in as a nod to the client’s love of D&D and wild purple resin because if you can’t have wild purple resin in your gaming room when can you?! The table topper allows for large board games to be lifted off the main table so everyone can see and so the extra pieces can be kept underneath. Pretty cool idea there from the client actually. The table is 1600mm square with the topper 1m square. All made of beautiful camphorlaurel and finished with buckets and buckets of danish oil for a super hard wearing finish. Sometimes you just have to whip up a quick jig to cut a bunch of identical half lap joints in these table legs. Vertical cut on the and then the crosscut to take the piece out on the trusty drop saw. Such clean cuts that I don’t even need to clean up the cuts with a chisel.
