JUST ANNOUNCED ⚡️ , also known as Victory Not Vengeance, is a British/Irish Electronic music group formed in London, the brainchild of Ronan Harris who fronts the band as singer, songwriter and producer.
Ronan Harris was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, where he was exposed to electronic music via radio. He developed an interest in bands such as KRAFTWERK, DAF and THE HUMAN LEAGUE. In 1983, he joined a band named Die Fabrik, whose punk-inspired noise and synth style didn't land well in Dublin. This led to Harris moving to London in 1989 where he began composing under the name of Nation, then modified to Victory Not Vengeance, to then become VNV NATION.

JUST ANNOUNCED ⚡️ For 15 years, has championed experimental sounds from the Australian underground: Across heavy, progressive, psychedelic, ambient, experimental and uncategorisable music, the label has built a home for artists working at the edges of genre.
These anniversary showcases bring together some of the many threads that have shaped the Art As Catharsis community: heavy, beautiful, strange, ecstatic, abrasive and intimate music from artists who continue to expand what Australian underground music can be.

Tortoise is widely considered one of the most influential music groups of the last 40 years, with a wide-reaching impact on the contemporary music scene.
At the top of the funnel you have groups ranging from dreamy psych-rock to earthy post-punk crunch, including Eleventh Dream Day, Bastro, Slint, and the Poster Children; on the 'post-Tortoise' end are groups focusing on electro-jazz and twangy instrumental rock like Isotope 217, Chicago Underground, and Brokeback. In this graphic, Tortoise is the choke point, the one project that has elements of all these sounds but is never defined by nor committed to any of them.
The band, which originally formed in Chicago in 1990, comprises Dan Bitney, John Herndon, Douglas McCombs, John McEntire, and Jeff Parker.
With their first visit to Australian shores in 10 years, Tortoise is set to wow audiences around the country with these select shows.
