WE ARE HIRING - JUNIOR POSITIONS TO FILL!
We’re looking for two junior team members to become a part of our Groupheads and Grind family.
🔹 Weekend Junior Position
Perfect for a high school student looking for weekend work and experience in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants must have availability across both Saturday and Sunday, however you may not be rostered both days every weekend.
🔹 Weekday Junior Position
Ideal for someone available during the week to help support our team with day-to-day operations.
Applicants must have a minimum availability of 2–3 weekdays during our operating hours of 6am–2pm. Bonus points if you also have availability to work weekends! Shifts will generally range from 3–5 hours and starting from 8-9am with the possibility of increased hours as experience grows.
What we’re looking for:
✔ Positive attitude
✔ Reliable and punctual
✔ Willingness to learn
✔ Team player who will join a team who are like family
✔ Communication skills - bubbly and friendly approach with our customers is a must!
Duties will include:
✔ Serving customers, using a POS and handling cash
✔ Stock rotation and refilling
✔ Answering the phone and taking orders over the phone
✔ Running food and beverages to tables, cleaning of tables etc
✔ Dishwashing
✔ General cleaning tasks
✔ Food prep to support kitchen staff
✔ Learning to make our cold drinks to support our baristas
Experience is a bonus but not essential - training will be provided.

They say it takes a village to raise a child… well today it took a village to run a small business!
Today threw us a few challenges with multiple staff away due to family illnesses, leaving us a little short handed unexpectedly.
But what stood out most today was the kindness, patience and support shown by our incredible customers!
Jessie held down front of house on her own while Bon absolutely smashed it out in the kitchen solo, and throughout it all our customers showed nothing but understanding for the extra time that was needed to complete orders.
We had customers clearing their own tables to help our team keep up during the rushes, some helping Jessie by running coffees out to seated customers and one amazing customer even grabbed the spray and wipe and cleaned tables for us during the lunch rush.
To say Jessie was blown away would be an understatement. The unexpected helping hands, kind words and patience today meant more than you could possibly know. This was a great first impression of you guys as our Groupheads and Grind customers for Bon who only started with us less then a week ago!
We are so incredibly appreciative and extremely grateful for the wonderful community we have around us. Thank you for reminding us today why we love what we do because of our amazing customers!

Meet the Team - Introducing Levi
Levi started with us as a 15-year-old junior back in 2024. He is now in his final year of high school and one of our very energetic weekend juniors!
When Levi isn’t at work, you’ll find him tearing it up on the field playing soccer for the QLD Football Academy.
His coffee order is… something a little different: a large Banana, Honey & Spice Smoothie on skinny milk.
Levi’s favourite hobby? Annoying Jessie to no end… but she secretly loves it (as he still gets shifts 😅)

Meet The Team - Introducing T✨
A familiar face to many, T has been with us since the Pure Shot Cafe days, disappearing on maternity leave for a year and coming back to be a very loved member of our Groupheads and Grind family!
Her go-to coffee order? A double shot iced long black — simple, strong and most importantly zero calories! She greets everyone with a smile, makes her coffees with love and is in charge of the playlist on Wednesdays and Thursdays!

For those who follow our socials, you’ll know Jessie has been testing out new drinks to introduce to the cafe.
Today we are launching two of our new drinks which have been a huge hit amongst the staff who volunteered as taste testers! We are excited to introduce:

After Jessie’s recent travels to Japan, we’ve combined Australian and Japanese culture in one cup - smooth matcha with a savoury Vegemite twist.

A true Aussie favourite meets one of our best sellers.
Dusted with a healthy amount of chicken salt it takes the basic caramel latte to the next level!

Today we farewell Chelsea! Jessie isn’t accepting of this but Chelsea is off to explore the world of learning and is heading to university to complete a nursing degree! Chelsea started with us as a year 11 junior and we have loved having her here every weekend and school holiday shift she has worked! All the best Chelsea, you will be missed!!

Meet the Team - Meet Hayley!
New to the crew just this week is Hayley. Having only started with us on Monday, she is already a big part of our Groupheads and Grind Family and it feels like she has been with us for years. Hayley’s drink of choice is a small double shot flat white on skinny milk - that double shot fuels her big loveable personality and her non-stop energy levels!
She has that rare ability to remember your name and your coffee order after the very first meeting, which is exactly why people warm to her so quickly and have been repeat customers all week! Hayley’s brings that vibe that helps continue to make our customer service go above and beyond the others!

Meet Our Team - Introducing Jaime!
Jaime brings the kind of energy you notice the second she walks in. She is electric, infectious, and always smiling. She is sunshine in human form!
Her coffee order? A cappuccino loaded with an unreasonable amount of chocolate dust… and she firmly believes anyone ordering a cappuccino without chocolate dust is making a very questionable life choice.
When she’s not behind the counter, she’s either talking all things Formula One or working towards her future as a hairdresser, balancing study with café life like a pro!

We had such a great turn out last month, we have decided to do it again! Next Cars & Coffee is locked in for next Sunday March 29th. Come on down from 630am, grab a coffee and a feed and talk car stuff with like minded friends! Today we farewell Zoe! And we are sad about it! She is off to explore Sydney…and we secretly hope she gives us a call in 6 months time and asks to come back (we all know she has done this before twice!!). Zoe as been a part of the Pure Shot Cafe/Groupheads and Grind family since 2022 so this departure hurts the whole team! Good luck Zoe, we hope Sydney is amazing and just know…you’ll never find coffee as good as right here! Come back soon!
