Today we were really excited to celebrate a big milestone - hitting 7 years in business & having a little ‘happy birthday’ to Umu. Unfortunately, in other plans (pretty fitting for small business really) our roof collapsed overnight.

So grateful it happened when nobody was in the shop which means thankfully everybody is completely fine, but … what the heck, universe?

We’ll be continuing to operate with some modified dining and probably taking some time to mentally process the year so far … it’s been a doozy.

Thanks for all of your support. We will be back soon with a gratitude post for our birthday. For now, we are just going to take a deep breath and try to laugh it off (otherwise we might cry).

See you all at 5 am tomorrow! No more surprises, please.

Last call for bread orders! With cut off times we have one more order we can place for SUNDAY DELIVERY. Get your orders in by 6am tomorrow for last chance at discounted prices.

Whilst we have been extremely fortunate to escape major damage at both of our shops, some of our suppliers have been without power for just short of a week.

This is absolutely devastating for anybody, let alone our beautiful small businesses who are already struggling through the current economy.

HELP US, HELP THEM.

are back open and baking and we want to support them. We’ll be discounting our sourdough loaves in store to try and place as many orders as possible to show our support. The bigger the order we can place, the more it will help them get back on their feet.

Sourdough loaves (unsliced)- $10
Sourdough loaves (sliced) $11
Fruit & nut loaves - $12
5 pack brioche rolls - $10
6-pack croissants - $30

This will run from Monday 17/3 through to Sunday 23/3. We have to place orders in advance, so please let us know if you’re interested so we can gauge interest and order accordingly.

If nothing changes rapidly tomorrow, we’re back baby.

Full menu (minus a couple that we can’t get stock for), indoor seating, plates & crockery (no more takeaway only).

So damn grateful for our community. You guys always see us through the hard times.

To our team, you’re so brilliant. Honestly. You are so patient with our chopping and changing and adjustments. We couldn’t do any of this without you!

Guys, these decisions feel impossible at the moment.

Last night we cancelled all of our staff around midnight because things had intensified…. And then this morning … 🫠🤯😬

We are trying to get a team together to open. Emily’s here! Soane and Kailo are on their way. Worst case we’ll be offering takeaway goodness, and If winds don’t pick back up we will get our tables and chairs set up too.

Thanks for your support. Thanks for your patience. Thanks for your understanding. The decision making fatigue has done a number on me and I’m ready to sleep for a week. Can somebody tell my kids?
