After a lot of thought and some big life changes, I wanted to share some news with you all ❤️

As many of you know, I suffered a stroke in mid-2024. It’s been a challenging time, and my focus now needs to be on my health and recovery. Because of this, I’ve made the very difficult decision to sell Caffeine Espresso.

This little café has meant the world to me – not just as a business, but as a community. I’ve loved the chats at the counter, the regulars who became friends, and all the memories made over coffees, breakfasts and laughs.

Unfortunately, our chef has decided to finish up earlier than planned, and his final day will be Friday. This means the kitchen will not be operating over the weekend, and we won’t be able to offer a final weekend breakfast service as we had hoped.

The good news is that the café will still be serving coffee and lite snack on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and I’d love for you to drop in for a cuppa and a chat during those days.

I want to say a huge thank you to:

☕️Our loyal customers, who have supported us through the highs and lows

☕️Our amazing staff, past and present, who helped make caffeine espresso what it is

The café will be in new hands as of Tuesday and I’m confident the new owners will continue to look after you. I hope you’ll show them the same support and kindness you’ve shown me.

We're excited to announce that our friend Stu will be back this Saturday to create more portraits for our community art project.

Visit the cafe from 8am until 11:30am to have your portrait made, and receive a free 6x4 print on the day.

Together we're making artwork that will live in the cafe including a book and some prints for the wall.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!espresso Friends and Pets art & book project is kicking off early!

We've teamed up with Stu (.creative), a local portrait artist (aka photographer), to help us celebrate the people & animals who bring this space to life.

TOMORROW (Saturday 28th June)
Stu will be visiting .espresso between 8am–12pm, camera in hand, ready to capture a few of our local legends as a sneak peek of what’s to come.

What’s it all about?
* Help shape the upcoming Caffeine Family Album
* Get a free 6x4 print of your portrait if selected
* No booking needed – just swing by, say hi, and bring your pup (or cat, or turtle… we’re flexible)

Full sessions with set dates are still coming soon. If you can’t make it tomorrow, no worries, just scan the QR code at the counter to register your interest for future shoot days.

We’re really excited to celebrate our community and honour the vibe we’ve all built together here at the cafe.

Big thanks to Teneriffe Festival Board for their invitation to attend last night’s festival launch. Great hospitality at The Triffid!!

Happy International Women’s Day to our two Caffeine Ladies. We ‘count them in’ as important contributors to what we do in the cafe every day.

Let’s not forget my lovely wife who also contributes her precious time on top of another full time job.

We raise a cup to all the women who are part of Caffeine Espresso community whether they are sipping, slurping or working.

Our apologies go out to those impacted by the breakdown of our coffee machine today.
The GOOD NEWS is that our friends are helping us out with a replacement. Thanks Vivo Coffee legends...
The Bad News is that this will not be completed until around 10am on Friday 1st March.
The GOOD NEWS is that one of our Vivo Coffee Sisters is sending a coffee van to set up in front of Caffeine for the morning so that you don't need to miss out on your regular fix, you will still be able to enjoy your favorite bites in the cafe.
We look forward to seeing you in the morning.

Saw a lovely exchange in the cafe this week. One of our regular morning customers drew/painted another of our regular sipper’s dog (Tyke). They are always in the cafe at the same time yet hadn’t met, that is before the artist presented this to Tyke’s owner. Lovely to see a new connection and here’s to many more in and around the Cafe.
