When first viewing Stratton Bar and Kitchen, it’s hard not to be struck by the sheer scale and beauty of the venue. Set in a pair of World War 2 hangers on Newstead’s Stratton Street, it boasts an industrial chic aesthetic that blends old world charm with contemporary sensibilities.
It’s truly a fit out to behold, and one that was only made possible through close collaboration between the Fast Fitouts team, the client, and fellow contractors.
Creative proactive project management was vital, as there were near endless elements to keep track of. Being a ‘from scratch’ fit out, the bar, commercial kitchen, toilets, mezzanine, store room, and cold rooms were all within the scope of the project. Many areas required tailored solutions and custom joinery.
The most prominent of these bespoke pieces is the kings table. It was constructed using materials salvaged from the bearers that supported the building’s old office, and spans nearly 8 metres long. Another stunning centrepiece is the central u-shaped bar that’s viewable from all angles.

A careful approach to design and construction is needed for projects with tight budget constraints, and that’s exactly what Fast Fitouts brought to the table when working with Southside Eyewear on their new Fairfield store.
With clear input from the client about their desired layout, we helped negotiate with the landlord for a concept that would be clean, inviting, and provide ample open space to showcase the business’ wares without blowing the budget.
Though the budget was strict on this project, the results are exceptional. Through some simple, functional additions, the store was effectively transformed into a feature-rich and fit for purpose space.

Office remodel for ATC Williams, Brisbane.
The office enjoys abundant natural light thanks to the extensive use of glass throughout, and views of the leafy suburban streets below.
Separate enclosed spaces were constructed, with new offices and a meeting room now bordering the central workspace.
Featuring solid, salvaged doors and a mix of glass and plasterboard walls, these rooms deftly straddle the line between welcoming and private.
Through these simple but effective changes, this office has been transformed into one that is contemporary, timeless, and scalable with the business. The new layout makes optimal use of the available space without feeling cramped, while both open and private areas cater to the business model.

West End Co revamp.
The goal was to execute a renovation with a contemporary, practical design, without altering the store's structure too drastically. This would ensure it could be rented out to a diverse range of clients in the future.
Walls downstairs were removed to lend an airy, bright, and welcoming quality to the showroom floor, while upstairs, walls were being constructed to accommodate a new kitchenette.
Connecting the two levels is a timber staircase, glass balustrade, and steel posts. It’s a blend of materials that is both professional and homely, and one that is sure to stand the test of time.
Their rugs were well displayed using a versatile track lighting system.

We raised the bar for the fitness facility by supplying the functional yet fashionable front-counter joinery needed for reception and coffee-making, and new storage cupboards that complemented this blend of style and substance.

The design of this fit-out is one that’s bound to delight a diverse range of demographics. Funky pop elements are prevalent throughout and, along with the hexagonal honeycomb-esque splashback tiles, add flair against the dark colour scheme of the walls and cabinetry.
Vivid yellow signage and accents draw the eye of curious passersby, and the matching timber slats that adorn the walls and ceiling create the illusion of greater interior space.
