🚨 PLEASE HELP US FIND HIM 🚨
On 24/8, this man and his mate came into Haad, sat down, ordered a suspicious amount of food from our Thai fusion menu… and then disappeared without paying.
We tried calling.
Blocked.
Tried again.
Still blocked.
At this point we thought, alright… you’ve left us no choice. We’re taking this to Instagram.
So here’s the evidence:
Seafood Thai-aella 🦐
Massaman beef cheek linguine 🍝
Soft shell crab pasta 🦀
The crime? Ordering half the new menu and making it look way too good.
The suspect?
Yeah… he doesn’t exist. 😂
Nobody ran away. Nobody owes us money. Nobody needs to be found. And please don’t call Crime Stoppers.
We just wanted an excuse to show off our new Thai fusion menu, and apparently a normal “come try our new dishes” post wasn’t dramatic enough for us.
Sorry for wasting approximately 20 seconds of your investigative time. 😂
But since you’ve already swiped this far, you might as well come in and try the food.
Thai flavours. A little bit unexpected. Definitely Haad.

To our community,
Running a restaurant means opening yourself up to feedback every single day, and that’s something we genuinely welcome.
Not everyone will enjoy our food, and that’s okay. Taste is personal. Some people may find our food too traditional, while others may think it’s not authentic enough. We respect those opinions because food is meant to be discussed, and we’re always listening and looking for ways to improve.
But today, we received a phone call asking if we could cook someone’s dog.
That isn’t criticism. It isn’t humour. It’s a racist stereotype that has been directed at Asian communities for generations.
Comments like these don’t just affect a business—they hurt the people behind it. They hurt our chefs, who have dedicated years to learning and sharing the food they grew up with. They hurt our front-of-house team, who proudly represent our culture every day. And they hurt every small business owner who simply wants to share something they love with their community.
At Haad Thai, we’re proud of who we are.
We’re proud to serve Thai food. We’re proud of our culture. We’re proud of our team, who work incredibly hard every day to provide great food and genuine hospitality.
You don’t have to love our food. You’re welcome to leave a review, tell us what you think, or even decide we’re not the restaurant for you. That’s part of hospitality, and we respect that.
But racism has no place in our restaurant, or in our community.
To the thousands of customers who have supported us, encouraged us, and treated our team with kindness since the day we opened—thank you.
