Hi Smokin Joes family ❤️

Just a little update on our mate Rocky.

Rocky went in this morning for a pre-planned heart procedure. We know it’s a big day for him and his family.

As many of you know, Rocky has been part of the Everton Park community for a very long time and a special part of the Joes family too. Whether he’s singing, dancing, making the kids laugh or chatting with everyone over a coffee, he always brings a smile to the shop 😊

He’s had a rough trot before and bounced back incredibly well, so we’re all hoping this procedure helps get him feeling even fitter and stronger than ever.

We’re looking forward to seeing you back at Joes soon Rocky ❤️

We’ve made a small change to our trading hours:

⏰ New Hours
4:30am – 12:30pm, 7 days a week

We’re opening a little earlier and closing a little earlier.

Price Update

As most of you would know, supplier costs have continued to rise — particularly coffee, which has increased significantly over the past couple of years.

We’ve done our best to absorb as much as we can, but there will be a small price adjustment:

☕ Small: $5.50
☕ Medium: $6.00
☕ Large/Jumbo: $6.50

A BIG THANK YOU TO ESMEE 🙏

Some of you might remember her out the front of Joe’s years ago with her sister, selling their handmade jewellery once a month.

Since then, Es has helped out with juices for the other venues we’ve supplied, and with food prep in the café.

Last week, while Mel was away doing her charity ride, Esmee stepped in and took on a full week of prep — Monday to Friday. Early starts, no fuss.

And she didn’t just “help”… she owned it.

Our Mel is over in Melbourne right now for the Smiddy ride this week, raising money for cancer research through Mater.

This photo is Mel 15 years ago, being waved off by her family before her very first Smiddy ride from Brisbane to Townsville.

She’s carried that photo with her every single ride since.

That’s the kind of person she is.

We’re bloody lucky to have her at Smokin’ Joes.

💛 A Thank You to Crystal 💛

Back in 2015, about a year and a half after Smokin’ Joes opened, I made the tough call to close the café and start again. I stepped back into running it myself and rehired a small team — and Crystal was one of the first key team members to come on board.

For 10½ years she’s shown up with the same reliability, consistency, and quiet professionalism day after day. In that time, she’s helped us grow the café to more than four times the volume we were doing back then, all while delivering the same familiar service so many of you know and love.

In over a decade, she’s had less than a handful of sick days. That alone says a lot — but even more than that, she’s been someone our customers trust, our team relies on, and I’ve been incredibly grateful to work alongside.

Crystal is heading back home to New Zealand to spend more time with her family, and tomorrow will be her final shift.

In true Crystal fashion, she didn’t want a fuss made, but agreed to us sharing this today so customers have the chance to pop in, say goodbye, and wish her well before she finishes up (last shift tomorrow).

We thank her for the role she’s played at Smokin’ Joes and wish her all the best for what’s ahead. 🤍☕

Appreciate you dropping by, Tim. Running a small business definitely has its challenges, but community support like this makes a big difference.

Everton is always open for business, and Trusted Pest Management here on South Pine Road is a great example of that.

Tudor has always been incredibly active in our community, whether that’s through his helping hand initiative or food donation with OzHarvest, it just shows how much small business contributes.
