It is with a VERY heavy heart that I am announcing the closure of Tan's Cafe & Takeaway.
The past, almost 3 years, has been the most amazing learning experience, from business, new cooking adventures, catering opportunities, new friends and personal growth. The best thing I can say I will be walking away with is the new friendships I have made and my connection to the local community.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support as customers, friends and obviously the support from my family.
A MASSIVE and huge shout out to the best parents in the world, my Mum and Dad. I would not be the person I am or where I am in life without your support and guidance from you both. My gorgeous daughter's Anna-Rose and Holly. Thank you for putting up with my crankiness when stressed, helping with the shop when needed and for understanding my absence from important life events as a single parent and small business owner.
So many people to Thank. If I miss anyone now my apologies. Obviously a little emotional today so trying the best I can lol
For now, just a quick shout out and huge Thank You to a few very important people. To start, my sister Lisa, for the support as my book keeper/accountant when I took over the shop. I know I stressed you out but please know I appreciated everything you did for me and love you dearly as my sister ❤️.
Luke Kirby, what can I say. My ex partner and still an awesome friend, THANK YOU ❤️
Luke was by my side with the loss of Nelle and taking over the ownership of the shop. It was his idea and design to build the wooden feature wall, menu boards and plants. Luke also helped with the design/set up and, with his very talented kids Olivia and Angus, they created the amazing murals on the walls. Thank you all for your time and amazing work 🙂
Letitia, Julie, Luba, Amanda, Nick and Billy. The best employees any business owner could ask for. I could not of had the success of the shop without you all ### ❤️❤️❤️
Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly announce my Love and Thanks to my Partner and Soulmate Wayne. We may have only met 12 months ago but the past 6 months with you "officially" as my partner and living with my Family, taking on the role as my plus one to support my absence with Holly pick ups/drop offs, bread order deliveries, shopping and being my driver when needed, Thank You 🥰😘
Just being you, as the amazing person you are - Flower deliveries, random getaways, beautiful daily messages and just being there on my down days to lift me up, Thank You again.
Very much looking forward to our life together moving forward. New house, new life and a new beginning. Very excited 😊 🥰❤️
We will still be open for business every day 7 am until 2 pm, from today until Thursday 26th February with all your usual favourites. Thank you all again for your support, friendships, memories and definitely a lot of giggles 😊

WE ARE BACK........ opening Saturdays from 7.30am till 12pm as of tomorrow. Got all your usual favourites along with all day brekky specials for $10 and our very popular Tan made pies. Flavours available tomorrow are kangaroo, chicken mornay, savoury mine or roast pork.
Pop in and say Hi and grab a coffee. Tan will be on all morning with her helper Billy 😀
EDIT: Yes I've realised I wrote Eggs Benedict twice on the board. The other option is Savoury Mince on Toast 😊

CHRISTMAS DAY CATERING and CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR HOURS!!!

Only 6 days till Christmas. Still not too late to get an order in for pick up Christmas Eve. Anything from a cooked chook to lasagna, potato bake or a full dinner. Cut off orders will be close of business on Monday.

Monday 22nd December - 8am to 1pm
Tuesday 23rd December - 7am to 2pm
Wednesday 24th December - Closed (open for pick ups)

Tan and her crew are looking forward to a well deserved break over Christmas. We will be closed from 24th December until 4th January.

We will reopen on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

We hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas. See you all in the New Year !!! 🎄🎅️❤️️🎁️👍

Cool rainy day!!!!!
You need a feed of curry. Come on down and meet my friend Derrick and sample some of his delicious authentic African Curry. We have goat and chicken on offer today. If you can't make it on today, Derrick will be back on Thursday with more Chicken Curry and his famous Lamb Curry.

38.4 degrees right now. Hope everyone is keeping hydrated and in aircon or attempting to keep cool. Luckily for us here it's Monday, so we closed at 1pm and I was home and in my pool within 10 min. Huge shoutout to Teesh who worked with me today in this hideous heat. Hoping you are home in aircon now ♥️
FYI. Tomorrow's forecast is overcast with a top of 21 degrees. We will have you covered as always with your usual favourites, but we will have a special guest joining us in our kitchen. Derrick is one of my regular customers with South African heritage so he is joining us tomorrow to cook up some of his traditional curries including his speciality, Bunny chow. And NO, it definitely does not contain any Rabbits 😂 lol
For us Aussies, the easiest way to describe it is an individual cob loaf with curry. Yummo!!!!!
We will be having handouts of some tastings so please pop on in tomorrow. Opening hours are 7am till 2pm.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

We are back opening on Saturdays. Thank you all for your understanding over the past 6 weeks of our Saturday closures.
Tomorrow we will be opening our usual hours of 7.30am to 12pm.
You'll have the service of Tan and our 2 awesome juniors Billy and Nick.
With our delicious Lundt coffee and all the usual breakfast favourites on offer, we will also have a selection of our Gourmet Pies ready along with a variety of our roasts, meals and soups.

Happy Thursday ☺️
Hope you all enjoyed the warmer weather today. Unfortunately the winds and cold weather is predicted to be joining us again tomorrow so we are ready to go to have you covered with a variety of tummy warmers. As always we will have the usual favourites - roasts of the day, burgers, potato bake, vegetable bake.
But on offer tomorrow as well we have Chicken Noodle Soup, Pumpkin Soup, Guinness Stew and Colcannon (Irish Mashed Potatoes), Lasagna, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Curried Sausages, Chilli Hotdogs, and our new range of Gourmet Pies.
Remember, we are now stocking the tasty and delicious Lundt Coffee.
