Hi, my name is Aasish and I opened THE SHED Turkish Mezze and Bar, along with my business partner (our head chef), back in February 2025, opposite Flannerys on Given Tce.
When I first arrived in Australia in 2017, I went directly from the airport to Mt Isa where I landed a job managing a 150 year pub. It was somewhat of a culture shock but in a good way and I certainly learned a lot from the local characters. Working hard I saved some money and moved to Brisbane in 2023, putting a deposit on a house. I gained work training youth of differing backgrounds in all aspects of hospitality, and proudly became a citizen of this beautiful country. That was in January this year and set up in Paddington almost straight after.
We purchased the business previously here called 8848 Momo House and immediately changed the name to The Shed .. because the restaurant has the undercover vibe of being partly in a shed. Our menu started off as modern Australian however because we were new to the area we were keen to take on board customers suggestions and thus settled on a specific cuisine, being Turkish. Our chef has had a lot of experience working in Turkish and mexican restaurants so it just made sense.
We are so grateful for our regulars, many who stumbled upon us initially after watching a game at Suncorp. And the Paddington local families who have had parties and large dinners here. We can seat 110 and there are areas we can cordon off if one is seeking a private event or Christmas party. We have 8 tap beers of which three are local and quite a variety of cocktails and wines including half a dozen brands of tequila. At present our Happy Hour is from 3 til 5 when you can buy 10 pints, and buy one get one free wine.
Presently we have a handful of Christmas and special birthday bookings so if you think this could be the place for you come along and try some of our dishes. The sultans mixed grilled platter is a hit and our clever chef can make up special platters to your liking plus finger food.
