The wait is almost over.
After an incredible soft opening, we’re getting everything ready for the next chapter of Reload Espresso Bar.
We’ll be closed this weekend as our team prepares for opening day, but we’ll be back on Monday with our full menu, fresh coffee, and everything Reload has to offer.

It’s official — we’re reopening. ☕️
After some time away, we’re excited to welcome you back to Reload Espresso Bar.
We’re starting with a soft launch on Friday 29 May, serving coffees & pastries only, before fully reopening from Monday 1 June with our full menu returning.

50 years of Between the Lines. One night to celebrate it properly.
We’re proud to host Homage to Janis Ian at Reload Espresso Bar, part of Anywhere Festival Brisbane 2026.
Ruth Apelt, Brisbane singer/guitarist and songwriter, once shared a stage with Janis Ian back in 1994. Now she’s paying tribute alongside a brilliant ensemble: Helen Russell (double bass), Eugenie Costello (violin), and Karen McLeod (keys).
Together they’ll take you through the full arc of Janis Ian’s landmark 1975 album Between the Lines, including the iconic At Seventeen, woven together with the story of a trailblazing, Grammy-winning, six-decade career. Expect cabaret edge, real emotion, and a room that feels like it means something.
Come early, grab a drink, order dinner, and settle in.

Yes, it’s all quietly happening at Reload with soon version 2.0 coming up. If only things happen as one plans and envisage. But fear no more. Expect soft opening to come mid May. It’ll be great.

And so it is that we say goodbye to our much loved chef, Hisako.
We thank her for the seven years she spent we us and all the wonderful meals she prepared for the many functions we’ve had throughout the years , including festivals, bdays, funerals, weddings and music gigs. You’ll be missed and never forgotten. We wish you all the very best in all your future endeavours. ❤️ from all of us at Reload.

In search of sunny musical adventures, our barista of 10 years, Cente, is leaving for South America next week. Tuesday next week is his last day pouring beverages. Come and give him some love, say good bye and have one of his last coffees.

To reach Chrome Street in Brisbane, one can take the bus or train to South Brisbane Station and then walk towards Montague Road. From there, turn left onto Donkin Street and then take another left onto Chrome Street.
Alternatively, if driving, take the M3 motorway towards South Brisbane and exit onto Montague Road. Turn left onto Donkin Street and then take another left onto Chrome Street. There are several parking options available in the area including street parking on Chrome Street or nearby streets, as well as paid parking lots in the vicinity.
