Did you know that Saturday is Queensland Day!

Help us celebrate by coming along in your QLD best, I'm talking maroon, zinc, buckets hats, anything you feel embraces the QLD lifestyle.

Thankfully the roster is fairly full, we could use another marshal if you are looking to volunteer.

Also we have our special guest Sam Betten running with us, don't miss your chance to say hi.

See you all on Saturday at 6.50 for the run brief and a 7am sharp start.

Thanks
Annette RD

Happy Thursday only two more sleeps to parkrun day. We’re looking forward to another great morning at Sirromet this weekend, it maybe a little wet under foot so maybe don’t wear your bright and shiny white trail shoes.

We’re still looking for another tail walker to complete the volunteer roster. If you’re able to help please let us know either by message or comment below.

Hey parkrunners,

Only 2 more sleeps until the Sirromet hills are alive with the sounds of parkrunners - will you be among them?
The weather is looking good after a couple of unsettled weekends, and our course should be in good condition. The hills wont even feel like hills.......

Thanks to our awesome vollies, this week we have Liam, Jaanvi, Linda, Paul, & Paula. We could do with a marshal if someone is up for it, otherwise we can put a vest on a wallaby and you can follow that!
Simon takes over as Run Director next week, and he needs a timekeeper (or you will all get a 59.59), another tailwalker, & a marshal if possible. Please shout out to help Simon if you can.

Dont forget that you are welcome to stay around afterwards for coffee or breakfast at the Cellar Door as your reward for completing another (or your 1st) parkrun.
And as always, dogs are not permitted at Sirromet parkrun due to the wildlife.

See you on Saturday!

Hey parkrunners,

Yes it was a bit wet & sloshy underfoot this morning, but thankfully the rain held off & we all stayed dry.

We had 27 participants, with 4 first timers to Sirromet, including Janine who did her 1st ever parkrun - welcome, and i hope you enjoyed your Sirromet parkrun & will be back for more. Congrats to Stanley & Tim, and Bianca and Amanda who recorded PB's - well done to you all.

First home was Rodney Mawoyo in 20.52, and first female (& 2nd overall) was Zoe Raudino in 22.17 - good on you.

Thanks to our awesome volunteers , we couldnt do it without you. This week our stars were Linda, Meagan, Jen, Alan, Rachel, Jaanvi & Ellie - thanks to you all.

Next week we could do with a marshal, then the following week there are a few spots available. If you can help us out, please give us a shout.

Thats all from us this week; same place, same time next week.

Hey parkrunners,

Only 2 more sleeps until parkrun, and another week closer to Christmas!

I know you all don't like Sirromet to be dry & dusty, so this week we have arranged mother nature to water the course for your parkrunning pleasure! Yes, it might be an old shoe day on Saturday!

We have a full volunteer roster for this week, thanks to the lovely Linda, Jen, Meagan, Ellie, Rachel, Alan, & Jaanvi - we really appreciate you giving up your parkrun so you can help others.
Next week we could do with another tailwalker & a marshal, then there are plenty of opportunity's in the following weeks.

Thanks to parkruns sponsors for making it free for us all, if you can support these guys please do, as they support you - Medibank, The Athletes Foot, Brooks, Lorna Jane, Specsavers, Snap Fitness, & Zambrero.

We will see you all at 6.50am Saturday morning for the run brief, followed by a splashing good time.

This morning, we had 50 runners and walkers take on some wild weather on the Sirromet hills.

Of the 50, we had 21 first timers & 9 PBs! A big thanks as always to our volunteers. Thank you to Rick, Ian, Steven, Paul, Sharon, Tracey, Andrew & Jaanvi! If you're looking to get involved & volunteer soon, there are plenty of opportunities on the 9th May and onwards.

Also a huge congratulations to Izzy who celebrated her 100th Parkrun. An amazing milestone, and an incredible achievement given the all the volunteering Izzy does for our community. It was great to rock the tutus and silly socks for the occasion - check out the great photos below!

Please note, we have picked up two items of lost property. A teal water bottle, and a navy jumper. If these are yours, please let us know!

Finally, I'd also like to also pay respects to those who have served and are currently serving, in paying the ultimate sacrifice. Lest we forget.

Have a great weekend.

RD - Liam
