Geebung RSL President Denis Webb hosted RSL QLD State President Stephen Day DSC AM, Brisbane North District President Mark Orreal & Brisbane North District Sub Branches at the 2026 Presidents Lunch on Saturday 29 August.
This year’s luncheon celebrated the 75 Years Anniversary of the WRAAC – Women’s Royal Australian Army Corps. The highlight of the day was hearing from four (4) WRAAC Association Members who recounted their respective and varied experiences from the1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s on enlisting and fulfilling careers within the WRAAC. Their experiences were not all without challenge of course, but they each managed to deliver their experiences with extensive insights and with a good dose of humour thrown in for good measure to entertain guests.
A special thanks is extended to the Geebung RSL Citizen’s Auxiliary, Presidents Lunch Chair Katie Kilpatrick and her organising committee.
Acknowledgement is also extended to the Geebung RSL staff who presented the room perfectly to the theme, delivered wonderful meals and friendly customer service.

🎉 WHAT A DAY AT THE GEEBUNG STREET PARTY! 🎉
Sunday was an absolute cracker! ☀️ We were so lucky with the beautiful weather, and it was fantastic to see so many locals coming out to support local businesses, community groups and each other. 💙
We love being part of events like this and seeing our local community come together. It’s days like these that remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such a great neighbourhood.
A huge thank you to Bart Mellish MP , Anika Wells MP and Councillor Jared Cassidy for putting on such a fantastic day and helping bring the community together. 👏

To reach the Geebung RSL in Brisbane, you have a few options for public transport and driving/parking:
Public Transport:
1. Take a train to Geebung Station. From there, it's a short walk to the venue. Head southeast on Newman Road, then turn left onto Robinson Road East. The Geebung RSL will be on your right.
2. Alternatively, you can take a bus to Geebung Station Bus Stop (Stop ID: 010825). From there, follow the same walking directions mentioned above.
Driving/Parking:
1. If you're driving from the city center, take Sandgate Road (State Route 26) northbound until you reach Robinson Road East in Geebung. Turn right onto Robinson Road East, and after about 500 meters, you'll find the Geebung RSL on your right-hand side. There is parking available onsite.
2. If you're coming from another direction, use GPS or maps to navigate to Robinson Road East in Geebung. Once there, look for the Geebung RSL on the right-hand side of the road.
Please note that these directions are provided for general reference and it's always recommended to double-check with current traffic conditions and any road closures before starting your journey.
