A proper steak dinner without the food coma 🥩🍷
The 150g rump at The Ship Inn is the sweet spot.
Big enough to satisfy, light enough to still start with an entree… and if you’re doing it properly, make it the pan fried Yamba tiger prawns first. Straight from the Northern Rivers, cooked in a rich garlic bisque with a little kick of spice. One of the best starters going around.
Then roll straight into the rump steak served with roasted root vegetables, creamy mash and pepper gravy. Quality Queensland beef sourced through Boonara Station in the Scenic Rim as part of The Ship Inn’s paddock to plate philosophy, led by Executive Chef Stefano and the crew.

Our pan fried Yamba tiger prawns are sourced straight from the Northern Rivers trawlers of NSW, finished in a rich garlic bisque with a hint of spice and served over a fresh Thai style salad. One of Executive Chef Stefano’s absolute crowd favourites for good reason.

WEEKEND SUPERVISOR

The Ship Inn at Southbank is an iconic Brisbane pub with a rich and storied history dating back to 1864! What was once a rowdy sailor’s drinking den has been transformed into a civilised gastro pub complete with a separate and impressive function and convention facility that can cater for up to 200 guests.
We are seeking an experienced Weekend Supervisor for an immediate start. This role will be a combination of working in the restaurant, some involvement in functions and some bar work.
This is a hands-on role for someone with proven experience in bars, pubs, restaurants, or cafes.
We are not a super-late night venue so you will be able to have a bit more balance than your average pub gig!
This role includes but not limited to:
• The ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities including a busy restaurant, private functions that may be happening at the same time and managing the flow within the bar
• This is a hands-on role, so you will be looking after tables, clearing, re-setting and overseeing the smooth operation of each shift
• Providing outstanding customer service - must love hospitality!!
• A mature outlook with responsibility for closing the venue
• Must be available nights and weekends.
• Communicating with management, kitchen staff and customers
We are a small friendly team here at the Ship Inn and this position would suit those that love the variety that restaurants/functions/bar has to offer and aren't afraid to help wherever they are needed!
