Meet Matt - our Head of Beverage 🍸
The mastermind behind everything in your glass, from our cocktail menu to wine lists and all the fun, shareable moments in between.
With 16 years in hospo, Matt started at 18 picking up glasses before quickly moving into supervisory roles - now leading the entire beverage program. Nearly 4 years with Comuna (coming this November), he’s helped shape the way we drink, celebrate and connect.
Salvadoran-Australian, husband to Maddy, dad to one (with another on the way 👶), and a firm believer that the best cocktails are both simple and complex.
Drinks he swears by:
Favourite Cocktail? Margarita (always - simple, complex, perfect)
Favourite Comuna Cocktail? Jalapeño Pineapple Marg (fresh, tropical, easy to go again 🌶️🍍)
Favourite Tequila? Fortaleza Tequila (small batch, family-owned, done the OG way)

Meet the Desert Bloom Margarita.
Bright, fresh, and made for something bigger.
A vibrant mix of tequila, Lost Explorer mezcal, watermelon, strawberry and lime, finished with fresh watermelon and a Tajín kick.
For every cocktail sold, $1 is donated to Isla Urbana, helping bring clean water to communities across Mexico.
And on World Earth Day (April 22), we’re doubling every donation made through our Newstead Wishing Well, because small moments can create real impact.

To get to Creek Street in Brisbane, you can take public transport by catching a bus or train to Central Station. From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the street.
Alternatively, if you're driving, you can park in the nearby King George Square car park and walk over to Creek Street. Another option is to use street parking if available.
Once on Creek Street, look for the bar and Mexican restaurant located towards the end of the street.
